Well this time I painted something in the monster category... It took me a Silver Gobbo this time.
I've experimented a lot on this piece... this was the first time that I've used water effect (mixed it with dark sea blue (VMC)), well a bit too much paint...
The skin was basecoated with VMC Dark Bluegray, and shaded with multiple layers of glazes... The glaze was a mix of VGC night blue, VMC Dark bluegray, Valleyo heavy charcoal, and a tiny bit of Valleyo black ink, the amounts in the mix where changed between the layers, and some areas given lighter and "brighter" coats while others given darker, the front of the torso for example glazed with a very dark mix, and rehighlighted with basecolor a few times...
Rust and patina where applied because I like the effect
Rust:
Cavalry brown VMC
Orange brown VMC
and some VGC fire orange mixed with VMC orange brown...
then the rivets where given a very careful wash of sepia ink.
Patina:
The start was VGC Scurf green
then VGC Jade green (inbetween was approx 5 mixes).
Then a spot of GW ice blea was mixed to the pure Jade green and applied to the deepest areas
then a light and careful wash of sepia ink to imitate dust and dirt.
